Our Projects
Our current production, The Road To Success, is a 50-minute production tailored for elementary-school children written by Sidney Butler. The Road To Success is a fable about the paths we choose in life. The characters are all animals with vital human attributes: greed, cunning, honesty and patience. Through dance, music and acting, the characters will capture the imagination, penetrate the hearts and stir the souls of our children with a message of love, faith and goodness.
An article in the Los Angeles Times Magazine on July 6, 2003 states: "As gansta rap celebrated the "thug life", University of Pennsylvania sociologist Elijah Anderson and others have documented the depressing rise of an 'oppositional culture' in which elementary school children are looking up to dope dealers as role models."
DramaCure recognizes the critical need for positive character development in our youth. We must reach them at the elementary level and even sooner when possible. The temptations of drugs, violence and sex are invading their world with alarming success.
At the end of each production, there will be a question and answer period with the cast and the children. Also, elementary school teachers attending will receive a "student reaction questionnaire", which will aid in reinforcing some of the lessons in the production.
