OUR MISSION

The "Drama Cure" is a performing arts foundation dedicated to social healing in America, and indeed, the world. We hope to touch the conscience of the nation and the world with the ethics of love and hope. We believe that "positive message drama" is the human lever, which will force open the door to love,peace and racial harmony.

Our powerful weapons are the voices, the feet and the bodies of dedicated actors moving toward a goal of sisterhood and brotherhood. We are committed to the noble struggle of love for all mankind. We endeavor to make better persons of ourselves, thus, helping to make a greater country and a finer world.

YES WE CAN - WITH YOUR HELP
Many people say we are facing a crisis in America. Drama Cure is ready to meet that challenge. What is Drama Cure? Drama Cure is a performing arts company dedicated to social healing in America and the world. We believe that our professional plays and group discussions that follow them will help to promote peace, love and racial harmony.

The following is a list of plays that we hope to take throughout America and other parts of the world.

1. THIS CHILD IS MINE deals wit teenage pregnancy and AIDS.
2. SWEET LEMON deals with the ugly monster of drugs and violence ravaging our country.
3. CAN'T YOU HEAR ME CRYING goes behind the scene of the 1993 Los Angeles riot and exposes the racial conflicts ripping through our nation.
4. HUNG BY THE TONGUE takes the audience into the hearts and minds of the American public following the O.J. Simpson trial. It lays bare the epidemic of domestic violence in our society.
5. FIRE IN MY BOSOM examines the dramatic shift in the Civil Rights Movement following the death of Martin Luther King
6. AUCTION BLOCK breaks the chain of lies about slavery in America.
7. ROAD TO SUCCESS is a drama for our elementary age children. It deals with the lurking danger of drugs and alcohol invading our school halls. The characters are cartoon characters, but the message is powerful.
8. TAKE A BITE OUT OF LIFE dramatically magnifies the rapidly rising epidemic of obesity in America.
9. THE SMOKING GUN takes our young people on a journey into the death valley of cigarette smoking.
10. THE LIVING STIFF gets our young off the couch and into physical exercise and activities.
11. SCHOOL OF BAD RULES deals with the dangers of gang life.
12 GLOBAL WARNING dramatizes the role each child can play to help save our planet.

What can you do? We need a Drama Cure house. A four or five bedroom house will serve our purpose. Our actors will live in the house during our two months preparation for each drama. The house will serve as our theatre and showcase for each play. At the completion of preparation and rehearsal, we will send the show out on  a national tour and the next play will begin preparation and rehearsal. If you can, or if you know someone who is willing to provide us with a house, we will be forever thankful and grateful.

On the other hand, we need any amount of cash contribution your are able to make. We need costumes, sound equipment,  make-up, spotlights, etc. We are not funded by anyone. We are a citizen movement. We the people making a difference and with your help, we can do this. Please join us!
